Beta Theta Pi has five core values by which principled lives are lived:

Mutual Assistance

Service to the community has always been a high priority in the Tau chapter initiative. We have been involved in the community doing anything from walking dogs at the local humane society to providing donations to a cancer research center in Hong Kong. We also clean and maintain an adopted stretch of highway just north of Crawfordsville.

Intellectual Growth

Scholarship has traditionally been the focus and mission of the brothers of the Tau chapter of Beta Theta Pi, and it remains the backbone of our brotherhood. In accordance with fraternal policy on the national level, all pledges must obtain a minimum GPA of 2.5 before initiation into the chapter.  See our current scholarship achievement.

Trust

Betas develop absolute faith and confidence in one another by being true to themselves and others. We hold each other accountable for our actions and assist each other in times of need. Trust is one of the main driving forces in the brotherhood that holds Beta Theta Pi together.

Responsible Conduct

Betas Choose to act responsibly, weighing the consequences of their actions on themselves and those around them. We strive to hold each other accountable for our actions and assist each other in times of need. Above all else, Betas are expected to be their brother's keeper.

Integrity

Betas preserve their character by doing what is morally right and demanding the same from their brothers. This concept of integrity binds not only the core values together, but also the brothers of Beta Theta Pi.
